Overview
Description
The livestock industry is increasingly adopting smart farming technologies to enhance productivity, animal welfare, and operational efficiency. Remote monitoring and management of livestock through devices such as smart collars and tags are becoming essential for modern farming practices. These devices allow farmers to track animal locations, monitor health, and detect issues like escapes or illnesses, facilitating advanced and efficient livestock farming.
This design employs a Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN®) with smart collars or tags to provide real-time monitoring and tracking of livestock. The system offers long-range communication capabilities, ideal for covering extensive farming areas. It also integrates multiple sensors (heart rate, air quality, temperature, humidity, gyro) to monitor environmental conditions and livestock health, enabling data-driven decisions for operational optimization.
System Benefits:
- Low-power consumption devices extend battery life, reducing the frequency and cost of replacements.
- Advanced signal conditioning ensures higher accuracy in sensing, providing precise monitoring of livestock health and environmental conditions.
- LoRaWAN is ideal for long-distance communication, enabling reliable remote monitoring of livestock across large areas.
