Overview

Description

The US082-DA7280EVZ evaluation board enables quick prototyping for a custom system design with the DA7280 ultra-low power haptic driver. The board provides a standard Pmod™ Type 6A (extended I2C) connection for the on-board motor driver to plug into any MCU evaluation kit with a matching connector. Two on-board capacitive touch buttons are realized with an SLG46620 GreenPAK™ programmable mixed signal.

The US082-DA7280EVZ features Pmod connectors on both sides of the board allowing additional Type 6/6A boards to be connected in a daisy-chained solution with multiple sensors on the same MCU Pmod connector. Thanks to the standard connector and software support, the US082-DA7280EVZ is ideal for Renesas’ Quick-Connect IoT platform to rapidly create an IoT system.

The DA7280 high-definition (HD) haptic driver combines custom drive sequences (at up to 1kHz) for HD haptic effects, along with resonant frequency tracking for driving both linear resonant actuators (LRA) and eccentric rotating mass (ERM) actuators. It provides superior click/vibration effects in smartphone, gaming and wearables applications. The DA7280 is also ideal for use in industrial applications such as touch screen banking ATMs and in automotive areas such as steering wheel driver feedback.
