RH850/P1M Functional Safety Certification IEC 61508 SIL3

Renesas introduces proven in-vehicle microcontrollers into application fields that require higher performance and higher reliability, such as industrial robots. Safety controllers used in service robots must meet the strict safety level (SIL3). The functional safety certification IEC 61508 SIL3 was acquired for the safety controller in December 2017.

RH850/P1M Functional Safety Certification IEC 61508 SIL2

The safety controller is the high-quality utility board that controls the motor of service robots and other robotic devices that move with running wheels. The controller always monitors the surroundings. The entire system runs and stops the robot safely if an obstacle or abnormality is detected, to control the robot and maintain safety. The functional safety certification IEC 61508 SIL2 has already been acquired.
