Fixed form factor switches, commonly known as "pizza boxes" or "stackables," offer compelling advantages over traditional chassis-based models that have seen slower advancements. The stackable design presents cost-effective scalability, reducing acquisition, support, and power costs for a lower total ownership cost (TCO). This design prioritizes precision timing, integration, and flexibility to enable network and system developers to meet the demanding 112G PAM4 requirements exceeding 400GHz.
