Overview
Description
Smoke detectors are crucial for early fire detection, enabling timely evacuation in commercial buildings like offices, schools, hospitals, and shopping centers. This is especially important in such environments, which typically house large numbers of people, making early warning systems vital for mass evacuation during a fire.
This smoke detection system for building fire alarms complies with the UL 268 standard, 8th Edition. It is compatible with both P-type and R-type fire alarms. The system integrates an MCU and a photoelectric smoke detector AFE to create a fire alarm with ultra-low power consumption and simple configuration. High-performance R-type and intelligent-type fire alarms utilizing power line communication (PLC) are also available for this design.
System Benefits:
- Achieves ultra-low power consumption by applying SNOOZE mode sequencer (SMS) operation on the MCU.
- Simplifies the configuration of the MCU and photoelectric smoke detector AFE, minimizing external parts and reducing PCB size.
- Reduces power consumption and allows for more sensors, resulting in fewer sub-systems in a building, which helps lower deployment costs.
