The integration of IDT to Renesas provides optimal memory portfolios for our customers. With four decades of SRAM experience, Renesas offers a broad line of low-power, high-speed, industry-standard SRAMs that provide high reliability, stable supply, and long-lifetime support in the industrial and communications markets.

Renesas offers asynchronous SRAM, synchronous SRAM, as well as ZBT™, Renesas' zero bus turnaround product. ZBT was designed to target networking applications that can benefit from the elimination of wait states during write/read transitions. Renesas also supports several mature device types in military grade for the defense market.

Renesas SRAM memory product offerings include:

  • Low Power SRAM products from 256K-bit to 64M-bit densities
  • Asynchronous Fast SRAM products from 16K-bit to 4M-bit densities
  • Synchronous SRAM architectures from 1M-bit to 18M-bit densities,
includes Renesas ZBT technology, the communications synchronous SRAM memory standard

About SRAM Memory and Synchronous SRAM

Static Random Access Memory, or SRAM, is a type of semiconductor memory that uses bistable latching circuitry to store each bit. The term static differentiates it from dynamic RAM (DRAM) which must be periodically refreshed. SRAM memory exhibits data remanence, but it is still volatile in the conventional sense that data is eventually lost when the memory is not powered. Synchronous SRAM is faster than asynchronous SRAM and requires a clock signal to validate its control signals, enabling the cache to run in step with the CPU.
