Overview
Description
This system measures an odor and transmits the data via Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) communication. Implementation of this design shows how the combination of a gas, temperature, and humidity sensor solves the issue of odor detection, using an Android mobile app to provide notifications.
The companion smartphone application captures and displays sensor data from all nearby sensors. When the sensor value exceeds a preset threshold value, an alarm will be displayed and a notification generated on the smartphone.
Features
- Measure sensor values at a sample interval of once every 90 seconds. If the indoor air quality (IAQ) and humidity values exceed the set thresholds for more than three samples, an alarm will occur.
- Sends IAQ, temperature, humidity, alarm status, and battery voltage via Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) beacon.
- Displays IAQ, humidity value, and alarm of registered device.
- Sensor data is received both while the app is open and when the app is in the background using an application background service.
