Partnering with Renesas for Superior IoT and Locationing Solutions

Feasycom leverages Renesas technology to create advanced Bluetooth modules, beacons, and sensors, including devices supporting iBeacon, Eddystone, and direction finding through Angle of Arrival (AoA) technology. Renesas chips are renowned for their ultra-low power consumption, high return on investment (ROI), and compact size, making them ideal for low-power, space-constrained applications. Feasycom selected the DA14531 chip for its exceptional performance in these critical areas.

During the design process, Feasycom faced significant challenges in minimizing power consumption to the extremely low levels required for their applications. Renesas engineers provided invaluable support by visiting Feasycom’s facilities to understand their needs deeply. They offered practical software and hardware design recommendations that successfully reduced the Bluetooth standby power consumption to less than 10uA. This collaboration highlights Renesas’ commitment to customer success through hands-on technical support and expertise.

Feasycom chose Renesas over the competition primarily due to the DA14531 chip's superior features, including very low power consumption, small size, and high ROI. These characteristics are crucial for developing competitive IoT solutions that require efficient energy use and compact form factors. Additionally, the integration of AoA and other beacon technologies enhances Feasycom's locationing capabilities, making their devices ideal for applications requiring precise positioning and real-time tracking.

Achieving Competitive Advantage and Future Innovations

The integration of Renesas technology into Feasycom’s products has yielded remarkable benefits. The DA14531 chip’s power consumption is half that of competing solutions, effectively doubling the battery standby time. This significant improvement enhances the market competitiveness of Feasycom’s products by extending battery life and reducing operational costs. Furthermore, the low power consumption allows for smaller capacity batteries, contributing to cost savings and reduced product dimensions. These advantages have enabled Feasycom to increase their market share and maintain a leading position in the industry.

Looking ahead, Feasycom plans to develop a DA14592 SIP module with extremely small size and low power consumption, aiming for a size of approximately 6x6 mm and maintaining Bluetooth standby power consumption within 10uA. This upcoming development underscores Feasycom’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in IoT technology, including enhancing locationing solutions with cutting-edge features.
