Blood glucose monitors (BGMs) are widely used for glucose monitoring due to their affordability, accessibility, and suitability for intermittent readings. They are especially preferred by individuals with Type 2 diabetes who manage their condition through lifestyle changes or oral medications rather than insulin therapy.

Renesas provides two BGM systems featuring multifunctional MCUs or SoCs with integrated analog front-end (AFE) or power management. These designs enable compact, cost-effective glucose monitoring with scalable features to address diverse application needs.
