Our embedded engineering team has collected a suite of development resources to help you quickly get started with your next motor or inverter design. Here is a quick overview of how best to make use of these resources and where to find additional details as you proceed with your project. Let’s get started:

Identify Your System Requirements

To help smooth your design cycle, it's good to start by identifying your development requirements, including motor type, algorithm, processor, high-voltage range control, and sensor type. Our motor control technology page will help you move to the next step with these requirements.

Choose the Right Technology for Your System

In the overview section, you’ll get an idea of the hardware, software, and tools Renesas offers for a variety of motor types and algorithms. Featured links provide additional knowledge. The next categories offer quick links to the products and evaluation kits that can drive your system.

Select parametric options in any of the tables to narrow down the list of products or kits according to your preferences such as motor type, sensor type, or control method. This effort should bring you to just a few likely options to look at. Clicking on any of them will bring you to a dedicated product or tool page with documentation, videos, additional resources, and links to get samples or kits to start evaluation.

  • Processors: Selection overview of Renesas motor control products based on motor type, performance, and CPU core
  • Getting Started: A step-by-step outline developed by our engineering team to walk through the resources at your disposal
  • Evaluation Kits: Complete kits driven by various processors and selectable by motor type, sensor type, and control method
  • Applications: A featured list of full-system solutions designed to accelerate your specific application system, as well as a link to all motor-driven applications

Rich Sample Code

Renesas provides sample code files associated with our boards and kits. Visit the individual inverter board or kit page to review and download. See Table 1 below to compare coverage for the various control algorithms plus direct links to sample code downloads.
