[CHANGE] Renesas Electronics Announces the Result of Early Retirement Program and the Recording of Extraordinary Loss

TOKYO, Japan, October 16, 2012 — Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE: 6723), a premier supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced changes in the number of the applicants and the extraordinary loss for the early retirement incentive program from the press release announced on October 3, 2012.

1. Outline of the Changes

Number of applicants:
7,511 employees
Extraordinary loss:
approx. 85 billion yen
Labor cost to be reduced:
approx. 54 billion yen

[After]

Number of applicants:
7,446 employees
Extraordinary loss:
approx. 84 billion yen
Labor cost to be reduced:
approx. 53 billion yen

2. Reason for the Changes

65 employees canceled their applications after the applicant number was counted on October 3, 2012 and before the applicants were finally confirmed.

There are no changes other than the above to the press release announced on October 3, 2012.
