IDT’s Wireless Technology Deployed to Offer a Better User Experience for Phones and a Variety of Other Applications
BARCELONA, Spain, March 2, 2015-- Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI) announced today that Samsung adopted an IDT wireless power transmitter to enable wireless charging for its Galaxy smart phone. With the integration of IDT’s P92xx magnetic induction transmitter in the Galaxy charging pad, Samsung joins the list of leading innovators deploying IDT wireless power technology into cutting-edge products. In addition to smart phones and accessories, IDT’s wireless power transmitters and receivers have been designed into wearables, charging stations, remote controls, and furniture.
“Wireless charging is quickly moving toward becoming a standard feature for smart phones as consumers begin enjoying the convenience of untethering themselves from power cords,” said Arman Naghavi, IDT’s vice president of Analog Power Technology. “With our track record of providing compact wireless power semiconductors for a wide variety of companies and applications, IDT welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Samsung to deliver a great experience for its smart phone customers.”
The IDT transmitter supports the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi standard, and offers a high level of programmability while consuming ultra-low standby power, meeting Energy Star requirements.
The company’s wireless power products will be showcased at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, March 2 – 5. IDT will display the technology at Booth 1H10.
