SANTA CLARA, Calif., January 10, 2012 —Renesas Electronics America Inc. today named Ali Sebt president and chief executive officer. Sebt, a 20-year Renesas veteran, succeeds outgoing president and CEO Daniel Mahoney, who has retired from the company.
Sebt joined Renesas Electronics America (formerly Hitachi Semiconductor America) in 1991 and most recently served as the company’s chief operating officer. Previously, he oversaw the business development, sales, marketing and engineering operations of Renesas’ microcontroller business in the Americas.
In his new role, Sebt will continue to advance Renesas Electronics America’s industry leading microcontroller position* and lead the company in serving emerging markets through secure, low-power signal-processing technology building blocks, including analog components, power management ICs and software. Applications in these markets range from automotive and industrial to building and home automation, appliances and healthcare, and each increasingly is defined by a common requirement for system-level design expertise.
