Overview
Description
The need for portable air conditioners has been growing for use in residential, RVs, or mobile housing. This triac-based motor controller solution is a robust, compact air conditioning system that works well for small-scale applications including vehicle systems. This system is based on triacs to simplify the design as compared to inverter-based designs.
System Benefits:
- Optimized triac control for a simplified compressor motor control system design
- RX231 low power, high-performance 32-bit microcontroller (MCU) or ultra-low power widely used Arm® Cortex® processor-based RA2E1 32-bit MCU to enable efficient design
- RAA223021 high voltage AC/DC buck regulator to convert the rectified AC power going to the system, allowing for simple operation
- Enhanced system monitoring for fail-safe protection, sensing current and load
