Description

Power Line Communication (PLC) utilizes power lines as a communication medium, allowing for quick and cost-effective system deployment. This method enables data transmission through both AC and DC power lines, facilitating building automation via existing AC power infrastructure or reducing device harnesses with DC lines. Renesas offers a narrowband PLC (NB-PLC) modem IC that supports high-speed communication up to 1Mbps and stable long-distance communication over 1km for peer-to-peer networks, enhancing connectivity and efficiency in various applications.

  • For a DC line, the unit can be as small as 3cm².
