Overview
Description
With USB Power Delivery (PD) and USB-C becoming the standard for powering mobile devices, especially due to new regulations in Europe, these power sources are now widely available. USB PD supports up to 48V and 5A in the near term, and currently, 21V and 3A power sources are commonly accessible. This system leverages these capabilities to offer a reliable, portable, and adjustable power supply, tailored to engineers' needs for fieldwork or on-the-go applications.
System Benefits:
- Works with any USB-C power source, such as a laptop main adapter that includes an automatic power negotiation.
- Provides 0-18V and 0-3A output, with an optional 4-wire method.
- Features a simple UI via push button or capacitive touch (e.g., slider).
- Includes an OLED display to set and measure the output voltage and current.
- USB and virtual UART can be used to implement convenient PC software with a GUI.
