Overview
Description
Growing health awareness and the demand for real-time monitoring are driving the adoption of wearable health devices. Compared to chest straps or patches, wristbands offer a lightweight, unobtrusive, and comfortable option for continuous tracking. They provide real-time insights into vital signs, supporting athletes in fitness tracking, patients with chronic conditions such as cardiovascular or respiratory issues, and even enhancing workplace safety for workers in extreme environments.
Renesas' health monitoring band leverages Murata Manufacturing's piezoelectric film sensor to accurately measure heart and respiration rates. Designed for a compact form factor with minimal component count while retaining high performance, the system integrates a powerful MCU capable of executing advanced algorithms to estimate mental states, such as drowsiness, and detect physiological abnormalities based on SpO2, body temperature, and heart rate (EKG). Additionally, the band supports wireless charging via NFC for enhanced convenience
System Benefits:
- AnalogPAK Programmable Mixed Signal Matrix implements a full analog front-end for the piezoelectric sensor, reducing BOM and size while ensuring accurate and precise signal measurements for body temperature, SpO2, and EKG.
- Fully certified Bluetooth® Low Energy module accelerates time to market and enables seamless connectivity to a mobile app for logging and viewing real-time insights.
- Powerful MCU allows the execution of algorithms to estimate mental state based on sensor input combinations and detect deviations from the user's established norm.
