Overview
Description
As the IoT ecosystem expands, the demand for modules that bridge local devices and cloud services continues to grow. A cloud gateway module acts as an intermediary, connecting local devices such as sensors, IoT hardware, and other networked systems to cloud services. This facilitates seamless data transmission, remote monitoring, control, and secure data storage.
This design demonstrates an implementation of a cloud-connected gateway module powered by an MCU with an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core. The system communicates with external modules via robust interfaces like RS-485 and RS-232, while collected data is uploaded to the cloud through a 4G module for further analysis. The power supply is designed to support both 12V and 24V inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of systems.
System Benefits:
- Arm Cortex-M4 core running at 120MHz ensures quick response times and smooth operation, with 512kB flash memory and 256kB SRAM for ample resources.
- Low input voltage and high PSRR LDO delivers clean and stable power with minimal noise interference.
- Synchronous buck regulator delivers up to 2.5A continuous output current for demanding applications.
- RS-485/RS-232 interfaces ensure reliable, flexible, and long-distance communication.
