RL78 Low Power 16-bit MCUs for Automotive

RL78/F Series 16-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) are AEC-Q100 automotive qualified and provide ultra-low power consumption. Our large product portfolio enables optimal coverage for a wide range of application demands—with scalability from 8KB to 512KB Flash/0.5KB to 32KB RAM, and from 20 to 144 pins (QFN, LQFP, SSOP packages). Other key features include high-temperature support up to 150 °C ambient (optional for RL78/F13, F14, F23, and F24), BLDC/field-oriented control (FOC) motor control, CAN/CAN FD, LIN, UART, CSI, an extensive ecosystem, and extensive compatibility for I2C interfaces, hardware, and software. For RL78/F23 and F24 MCUs, a built-in application accelerator unit further improves motor control performance. RL78/D1A MCUs are equipped with up to four stepper motor drivers and an LCD controller supporting up to 216 segments. These innovative MCUs are ideal for designing highly reliable automotive actuators and sensors, as well as low-end ECUs in body and instrument cluster areas.
