Intelligent power module (IPM) drive photocouplers (optocouplers) are optically coupled isolators containing an aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAs) LED on the input side and a photodiode and signal processing circuit on the output side in a single chip. These couplers are designed for high common mode transient immunity (CMTI) and low pulse width distortion with operating temperature, making them ideal for driving IPMs.
