Description
The ability to control and monitor smart appliances and industrial systems is crucial for enabling faster decision-making, reducing latency, and supporting offline operations. In addition to growing consumer demand for intelligent user interfaces, such as touch controls, there is a rising demand for embedded AI (e-AI) features. e-AI enables predictive maintenance by preemptively alerting users to potential system failures, such as motor obstructions, making it a highly valuable feature for modern systems.
This e-AI-ready HMI controller functions as a powerful system controller, capable of switching main loads via relays while providing feedback and control via touch display GUIs and other communication interfaces. It offers comprehensive, high-synchronous/BLDC motor control for driving systems, such as air-to-water heat pump fans and compressor motors in appliances such as heat pumps. With scalable power control, it supports up to 10.5kW of power from a 3-phase Y-connected power main. The controller integrates a robust energy management unit with e-AI processing capabilities, offering various wireless connectivity options and HMI to enable smart control and predictive maintenance.

- Pressure sensor in the heating/cooling refrigerant optimizes processes and shuts off the system in case of low pressure, ideal for systems such as heat pumps.
- Rich connectivity:
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, and optional LTE-M/NB-IoT for IoT communication.
- External control unit exchanges parameters with the heat pump or controls it via Digital I/Os, CAN bus, USB 2.0 I/F, and Bluetooth.
- High-end variant adds additional peripheral interfaces and performance features:
- Ethernet and I3C interfaces.
- MIPI DSI interface for high-end displays.
- Additional onboard flash/SRAM for higher-performance applications.
- RS-485 interface, utilizing the MODBUS protocol, enables bi-directional communication to control up to two 10kW motor loads while providing real-time feedback for e-AI.
