Overview

Description

Customers in the industrial sector often require Real-time Ethernet (RTE) solutions, also known as Industrial Ethernet. Common standards in these industries include EtherCAT, Powerlink, Sercos III, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, and others.

This design features an MPU perfect for connecting sensors in Industrial Ethernet applications due to its high integration, dedicated calculation power, and rich interface. Its integrated Arm® Cortex®-M3 based R-In engine also functions as a dedicated Ethernet hardware RTOS/accelerator.

A typical setup requires external Flash (via QSPI), Ethernet PHYs, various sensors (depending on the specific use case), and a power supply.

Three rails are needed to power this setup, but, in many cases, not much current is required. This can be easily achieved using our single and dual regulators together, meaning only two power-supply chips are needed in total.
