500W Onboard Battery Charger for 2-Wheeler EV

Overview

Description

This platform is based on Renesas GaN devices and targeted at universal input line voltage AC/DC battery charger designs with an output power level of up to 500W. This design comprises two power stages: the power factor correction (PFC) stage for AC to DC conversion and the LLC stage for DC to DC conversion, aiming for a peak efficiency exceeding 95%.

System Benefits:

  • The GaN FETs (650 V, 72 mΩ GaN FET) contribute to achieving exceptional system efficiency.
  • The integrated MCU enables CAN communication with the end device, facilitating information reporting such as battery health status, load connection/disconnection events, and other essential housekeeping functions.
