Visit Booth #301 for a Showcase of PCAP Products, TFT LCD Modules with LED Backlights, and the New NLT Value (NLB) Series Displays
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 20, 2013 – In conjunction with NLT Technologies, Ltd, Renesas Electronics America Inc., the authorized display representative in the Americas for NLT Technologies, today announced that the company will demonstrate their latest display technologies, including projective capacitive (PCAP) touch panel technology, two new amorphous-silicon thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) modules with white LED backlights, and the new NLT Value Series displays, at the Society for Information Display’s (SID) Display Week 2013 taking place at the Vancouver Convention Center, in Vancouver, Canada (booth #301), May 21-23, 2013.
Additionally, NLT Technologies’ Takefumi Hasegawa will speak about Optimized Parallax Control of 3D Images on an Autostereoscopic Display as part of the Autostereoscopic and Multi-View session. The presentation will take place on May 21 at 10:50am in Ballroom A.
Throughout Display Week, the companies will demonstrate nearly 30 LCD modules ranging from 6.5-inches to 19-inches in size. Each is designed and optimized for a variety of applications, including industrial automation, test and measurement, in-flight entertainment, ATM, POS and medical equipment displays.
Projected Capacitive (PCAP) Touch Panel Technologies
NLT Technologies’ portfolio of touch-panel devices provides factory level, integrated touch solutions, with increased durability and “user friendly” operator interface. The PCAP demonstrations will include:
- Nine new LCD modules ranging from 6.5-to-15.0-inches in size
- Multi-touch functionality with clear image quality
Amorphous-Silicon Thin-Film-Transistor (TFT) LCD Modules
NLT Technologies’ two new amorphous-silicon TFT LCD modules with white LED backlights feature panels with the wide aspect ratio format that is preferred in industrial and medical markets. Based on NLT’s LCD panel technology and white LED backlight system, which helps minimize environmental impact, the two new displays offer robust features and high reliability. Demonstrations will include:
- A 15.6-inch model display (39.6 centimeters diagonal)replaceable LED lamp and built-in LED backlight driver circuit
- A 19.0-inch model display (48 centimeter diagonal) with NLT’s proprietary high-quality imaging Super Fine TFT (SFT) Technology, with an 800 nit backlight system, 1000:1 contrast ratio and built-in LED backlight driver circuit
NLT’s Value Series Display Products
The new NLB Series is equipped with built-in LED drivers and are designed for higher volume industrial and commercial applications, such as Kiosk, POS and tablet like devices, with tailored Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) that broadens NLT’s display solutions for the market. Demonstrations will include the following displays:
- 5” WVGA NLB050WV01C-01) with RGB interface
- 7” WVGA NLB070WV01L-01 with LVDS interface
- 12.1” SVGA NLB121SV01L-01 with LVDS interface
- 15” XGA NLB150XG01L-01 with LVDS interface
The PCAP and Value Series displays exemplify the benefits gained by NLT as a result of the joint venture alliance established in July 2011 between NEC and Shenzen AVIC Optoelectronics Ltd. The JV alliance gave NLT access to China manufacturing facilities, enabling NLT to develop its Value Series displays. It also provided capital investment, enabling NLT to reinvest in areas like its own PCAP technology and manufacturing capabilities at Akita factory.
