Michael Hannawald - General Manager Industrial & Communications Business Group
Dusseldorf, January 9, 2013 – Renesas Electronics Europe, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced that it has appointed Michael Hannawald to the position of General Manager of the Industrial & Communications Business Group (ICBG) with immediate effect. Hannawald was previously Senior Director of the ICBG at Renesas Electronics Europe. He moves into the position vacated by Holger Zielke, who will be retiring.
Hannawald started his career in 1987 as a development engineer at Philips after graduating in engineering from the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. In 1990 he joined NEC Electronics as a Product Marketing Engineer for ASICs, subsequently moving up through the ranks to hold various project and marketing management positions. He then spent ten years in the Automotive Business Group, where his last position was as Head of the MCU Marketing Unit. Hannawald joined Renesas Electronics Europe when the company merged in 2010 with NEC Electronics, maintaining his position as Head of the MCU Marketing Unit in the Automotive Business Group. In October 2013, Hannawald moved over to the Industrial & Communications Business Group as Senior Director.
