Introduction to RX-Family Development Environments – Boards & Kits

The RX microcontroller kits portfolio consists of a variety of kits to suit many use cases such as functional evaluation, getting started reference, prototyping, proof-of-concepts, solutions demo, research, and academia. They are divided into 2 main types:

General-purpose kits: are designed to meet a variety of user needs. They help users jumpstart evaluation and rapid prototyping with RX MCU. 
Solution Kits: are designed to show how the RX MCU is ideally suited for specific applications. They includes cloud connectivity, graphics, high precision sensing, capacitive touch, motor control and Bluetooth® Low Energy.

Renesas Starter Kits contains all necessary components for full RX MCU evaluation with minimum modification. The package includes:

  • Rich-featured MCU board
  • Standalone emulator E2/E2-Lite
  • Pmod-type TFT-LCD
  • Power Adaptor (for some)

Solution KitsCloud ConnectivityCK-RX65NThe CK-RX65N cloud kit enables users to securely connect to a cloud service such as AWS IoT Core and explore features of RX65N and the cloud services. The kit is available for both wireless connectivity and wired Ethernet.

The RX Envision Kit offers an affordable, compact form factor to quickly start evaluation of its built-in LCD controller and 2D Drawing Engine for sophisticated HMI application. It provides:

  • WQVGA TFT-LCD with Touchscreen
  • On-board emulator
  • Audio interface and wired/wireless connectivity (only for RX72N Envision Kit)

The Renesas Solution Starter Kit for RX23E series incorporates various sensing circuits to evaluate the differentiated analog characteristic of RX23E series for high precision sensing applications. It provides:

  • Measurement circuits for Thermocouple/RTD/ Strain Gauges
  • Standard industrial communication like RS485 and CAN

The Evaluation System for Capacitive Touch provides an ideal environment to evaluate touch key solution. It provides:

  • RX CPU Card
  • Self-capacitance evaluation board: buttons, slider and wheel
  • Self/Mutual-capacitance evaluation board (only for RX130 board)
 
BLDC Motor ControlMCK-RX26T
Evaluation System for BLDC Motor
 

The BLDC Motor Control Kit provides comprehensive system to evaluate BLDC motor control with wide range of RX-T MCU series . It provides:

  • 48V/10A inverter board
  • RX-T CPU Card
  • BLDC motor with HALL sensor
  • Communication interface for Renesas Motor Workbench development tool
 
MOTOR-CPU-CARDAn optional board for Motor Control, using the RX-T series 
Stepping Motor ControlEvaluation System for Stepping Motor with Resolver
 

The Evaluation System for Stepping Motor with Resolver enable users to evaluate stepping motor control by RX MCU and Renesas Resolver to Digital Converter IC. It provides:

  • 48V/2A inverter board
  • RX CPU Card with RDC ICs
  • Stepping Motor with resolver sensor
 
RX72M CPU Card with RDC-ICThe optional board for Motor Control, using the RX72M group 
Bluetooth SolutionRSSK-RX23W

The RSSK-RX23W is the perfect kit for developer to evaluate 1-chip solution of system control and wireless communication by Bluetooth® Low Energy built-in RX23W. It provides:

  • Bluetooth® Low Energy interface
  • CapTouch, USB, etc
  • Pmod TFT-LCD, E2-Lite Emulator
